Photoshop - Spot Healing Brush Tool

With the spot healing tool you can simply remove unwanted blemishes on a person's face in a click.  It is an easy tool to use and very useful when editing images from a photo shoot for a magazine. You can change the size, hardness etc by right clicking.

InDesign

These light blue lines are called rulers. They can be placed on the document by clicking and dragging from the numbered margin.  They help with aligning text boxes and pictures withing the document.

InDesign

Playing around with InDesgin, I learnt how to write on a path by using the pen tool and applying text using the type on a path tool.
I also learnt how to type within a shape by placing a shape and applying the normal text tool. Any text that you type will then mould to the shap you have drawn.

Skills Development - Photoshop

To complete my magazine front cover I added the cover lines, a puff and a bar code.  With the cover lines, I placed a rectangle, coloured it then placed a text box over it, I found out that I could lock the layers of the rectangle and the text box in order to move them around the document simultaneously.

Once I was happy with my background and main image, I added a title. I got the text from dafont.com and I changed the colour of it in Photoshop.  I put the title behind the main image by changing the order of the layers. I also added strap lines and slug lines, by placing a text box.

I used Photoshop to produce the front cover of my magazine.  To start it off I changed the background colour. The first couple of layers I added where the main image, I placed the imaged where i wanted it and then duplicated the layer. I turned the second layer grey and put it behind the main image to give a shadow effect.
